favorite flower pics

Today, I would like to share with you some of my favorite flower pics.  If you've happened to read my photography page on Facebook, you'll find although I like to photograph most anything in nature, I especially enjoy--and do specialize--in taking photographs of flowers, butterflies and sunsets.  You'll come to realize that will be my focus, although I'm open to anything that catches my eye, as a photographer. 

 

Roses tend to my favorite flower to photograph, as they are for others; but I also enjoy lilies and hollyhocks, to name a few.

There's something especially beautiful and eye-catching of a macro flower...so many details to observe and enjoy.

butterfly pics

The following photographs were taken early on in my career, back in 2011.  I had just recently joined flickr and had enjoyed seeing others post photographs of birds and butterflies.  Those were becoming fast favorites, as well as macros of flowers.  I thought to myself then how wonderful it would be to capture some butterflies or birds up close.  My husband and I had begun taking special anniversary trips, and this particular one to Door County, Wisconsin, was one of our first.  These were photographed in the Newport State Park located in Rowley's Bay, Door County.  How elated I was to be able to capture some butterflies so closely.  They have become some of my favorites.  I hope they are for you as well!

when the timing is right...

As I've stated previously, I have a number of favorite photos that I've published on flickr. You'll see a number of them, if you should keep returning.  The photo I'd like to share with you is one I've posted just recently to flickr.  It is by far one of my all-time favorite photos.  It is a photo taken of a sunset at the beach.  The special part is the timing of the seagull!  Hoping to catch a seagull coming across your photo at just the right time is most difficult...and I finally succeeded!  Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

begin again...

I had started my own photography website previously under the same name.  I didn't get off to a very good start. This is my second attempt to try again.  It is all with the determination to start my own business.  If you have been on flickr, perhaps you've seen some of my work.  I'm sure I'll post some of my previously posted work from flickr.  I also plan to post new work, both here and on a Facebook page I plan to begin, as well.  Hope you enjoy what you see!  Please plan to come back time and time again!  I appreciate your visits.

 

 

This is one of my favorites.  I have several favorites, you'll find; but I love the colors in this, as well as the wonderful reflections.  I plan to use this as my web image, in some form.
